Little Library - Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Little Library handles information when you use the app.
Little Library is designed to be a private, local-first reading tracker for families. We do not use third-party advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking technologies in the app. We do not sell personal information.
Information You Add to Little Library
Little Library lets you create and save information such as:
- Little profiles, including a name or nickname, birthday, gender selection, and optional profile photo.
- Books, including title, author, ISBN, and optional cover image.
- Reading logs, including which books were read, which Littles participated, and the dates of reading sessions.
- Reading goals and progress.
- App preferences, plan state, and basic app state needed to operate the free and Plus versions of the app.
This information is stored on your device. On supported devices, Little Library also uses Apple's private iCloud and CloudKit services so your library can sync across devices signed in to your Apple Account. We do not operate our own server for your library data, and we do not have access to read the contents of your private iCloud library.
Camera and Photo Library
Little Library may ask for camera access so you can take Little profile photos, add book cover photos, scan book covers, or scan ISBN barcodes. Camera images are processed on your device. Images are saved only when you choose to use them as a profile photo or book cover.
Little Library may also let you choose photos from your photo library for Little profiles or book covers. The app receives only the photos you select for use in the app.
iCloud Sync
If iCloud is available for your device and Apple Account, Little Library stores and syncs your library using Apple's private CloudKit database for the app. This may include the profiles, books, photos, covers, reading logs, goals, timestamps, and related records you save in Little Library.
Little Library also uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage for limited app state, such as whether the free social snapshot export has already been used. This helps the app keep free-tier behavior consistent across your devices.
iCloud is provided by Apple and is governed by Apple's privacy practices and your Apple Account settings. You can manage iCloud access and stored app data through iOS or iPadOS Settings.
Book Lookup
Little Library can look up book information by ISBN. If you use ISBN lookup, the app sends the ISBN or lookup request to Open Library and may request book cover images from Open Library, covers.openlibrary.org, or archive.org. These services may receive information normally included in an internet request, such as your IP address, request time, and the ISBN or URL requested. Their handling of that information is governed by their own policies.
You can use Little Library without ISBN lookup by entering book details manually.
In-App Purchases
Little Library Plus purchases and restores are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card number, billing address, or other payment credentials.
The app uses Apple's StoreKit system to check whether Little Library Plus is active and stores basic local state needed to unlock Plus features.
Social Sharing
Little Library can create social snapshots that you may choose to share using the iOS or iPadOS share sheet. Sharing is optional. If you choose to share a snapshot, the content you share is handled by the app, service, or person you select in the share sheet. If you choose to include a Little's photo in a snapshot, that photo is included in the shared image.
Support Email
If you contact us from the app, your email app may create a support email addressed to mdappstudiohelp@gmail.com. The email may include your message and technical details such as the app version, device type, operating system version, and screen size. We use support emails only to respond to your request and improve support.
Children and Family Data
Little Library is intended for use by parents, guardians, and caregivers. The app may store information about children when an adult user chooses to enter it, such as a child's name or nickname, birthday, reading activity, and optional photo.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Little Library does not include third-party advertising, third-party analytics, social networking, public profiles, or account creation for children.
Data Deletion
You can remove your library data in Little Library by using Settings > Delete All Data. This deletes the Little profiles, books, reading logs, goals, and related library records from the app. If iCloud sync is active, those deletions are intended to sync through iCloud to your other devices.
You can also delete Little Library from your device. To remove app data stored in iCloud, use the iCloud storage controls in iOS or iPadOS Settings.
If you contact support and want us to delete a support email you sent, email us at mdappstudiohelp@gmail.com.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your Little Library data with advertisers or analytics providers.
Information may be handled by third parties only when needed for features you choose to use, such as Apple iCloud sync, App Store purchases, Open Library ISBN lookup, the iOS or iPadOS share sheet, or email support.
Security
Little Library relies on iOS, iPadOS, SwiftData, and Apple's iCloud/CloudKit security for local and synced app data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we design the app to limit collection and avoid unnecessary external services.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if Little Library's features or data practices change. When we update the policy, we will change the effective date above.
